Cape Quarter Lifestyle Centre – Kind Heart Bench Project

Nov 26, 2024 | Awards & Recognition

The D-School Afrika team, in collaboration with the Kind Heart Bench Project, has been engaging with tenants and shoppers at Cape Quarter to discuss the initiative and its impact. The Kind Heart Bench Project focuses on addressing everyday challenges that affect mental health, particularly among pupils and adults, including issues like bullying and peer pressure.
This innovative project repurposes trees that were marked for removal—transforming stumps, often seen as useless, into beautifully crafted benches and chairs. These pieces symbolize renewal, offering spaces for communication, empathy, and connection. By giving these trees a second life, the project represents hope, kindness, and the possibility of transformation.
The Kind Heart Bench Project spreads a message of inclusion, love, and compassion, fostering a community where open dialogue can lead to meaningful change. It envisions a future where engagement and collaboration help create a more supportive and understanding society.
