OUR CORE BUSINESS

We invest in strategic properties that differentiate us by use and location and must be sustainable in the long term. We own through acquisition of rental enterprises and through property development, with the primary objective of achieving a geographically and sector balanced portfolio that includes long term leases with inflation beating escalations. 

We leverage our in-house property, development and hospitality  management skills in effectively and efficiently managing our diverse portfolio, thereby enhancing shareholder value. Developments are frequently done in partnership with carefully selected local expertise, always ensuring that RDC retains a controlling mechanism to protect our investments. 

We seek regional and international growth opportunities, ensuring a multi-currency rental stream with the effect of providing a natural exchange rate hedge. We actively engage in treasury management, ensuring the most efficient cost of capital. 

We employ robust and innovative structuring, contributing to efficient devolution of distributions. In general, our hospitality assets are managed by way of an Opco and Propco structure, which allows us to variously focus on the core business of running the business (Opco) and ensuring sustainable rental growth (Propco). 

We add value by investing in assets with potential upside and realisable value and ensuring an equitable balance between dividend yield and capital appreciation. We will continue to diversify and optimize our portfolio to remain relevant.

We are also deeply aware of the need to apply the non-financial environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors to our analysis process to identify material risks and growth opportunities. RDC believes in and lives out the proposition that ESG creates value.
