We are pleased to continue providing our support to local charitable institutions and communities.  Our support for the less fortunate communities remains a Group focus, with contributions to at least 15 different organizations in the past year. A few of the many noteworthy initiatives this year include the Khanyisa Empowerment Trust, a  broad-based women’s empowerment Group, at Radisson Red, Boitumelo Primary School Sponsorship and the Sefhare Primary Hospital Sponsorship and donations The involvement of our associated operating companies and management companies in contributing to the upliftment of local communities bears testimony to the fact that our purpose of adding value to the communities we serve is deeply rooted in all of our Group’s decisions and actions. 

During the year we have continued to support the education sector by contributing to schools in Botswana, RSA and Madagascar. In addition, we continue to support and promote arts and culture initiatives; in Botswana traditional dancers received support from us in the Chobe District, whereas in RSA, the art community has largely benefited from our contribution to the Investec Cape Town Art Fair and the Radisson Red emerging artists promotion.

Ngwapa Primary School, Sefhare Primary Hospital and the Masa Centre Annual Food and Clothing for Charity Campaign are amongst those that the Group has the privilege to be involved with and support.

Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village “Before I Die” Wall draws a crowd

Before I Die is a global art project that invites people to reflect upon their mortality and consider the things that matter most. Originally created by Candy Chang in New Orleans after the death of a loved one, there are now over 5,000 walls around the world.

The Cape Quarter Lifestyle Centre is a new addition to the collection and has become a massive hit! People are flocking daily to write their wishes and dreams on the board. With the Atlantic Sun Newspaper featuring it on the front page!

Human Rights Day at RDC Cape Town

This Human Rights Day, RDC Property Group Cape Town cooked up a feast to share with those in need. We handed out meals to people facing food insecurity, and to ensure no food went to waste, we donated the remaining food to a local shelter. 

The shelter then continued spreading the love by distributing the food to their community members. Together, we’re making a difference, one plate at a time.

The David Livingstone Safari Lodge Team Marches for Women's Empowerment

The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa wasn’t just celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8th, their team was out making a statement! They joined the official Women’s Day march alongside Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema.

This year’s theme, “Invest in Women & Girls: Accelerate Progress,” resonated with the lodge, and their participation in the march showcased their commitment to women’s empowerment. The march was a powerful display of unity and a call to action for greater investment in Zambia’s women and girls.

Delighting Our Seniors: A Sweet Valentine's Day at De Ville Centre

This Valentine’s Day, De Ville Centre spread the love a little further by focusing on our valued senior shoppers.

The primary goal of the activation was to create a positive and memorable experience for them, fostering a sense of community and goodwill.

Throughout the day, friendly staff members greeted seniors with warm smiles and presented them with a delightful box of chocolates. This small gesture served as a sweet token of appreciation for their continued patronage and loyalty to De Ville Centre.

The initiative was a heartwarming success, generating smiles and creating a sense of connection among our senior visitors. De Ville Centre is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all shoppers, and this Valentine’s Day campaign perfectly exemplified that commitment.

RADISSON RED, ROSEBANK | Tega Tafadzwa’s Meet & Greet

On February 10, 2024, the Radisson RED, Rosebank was the proud host of an exclusive meet-and-greet event, fostering connections between Tega Tafadzwa and a diverse group comprising media representatives, influencers, local business leaders, and members of the BMW Young Collectors program. The gathering was a vibrant assembly of 140 attendees, marking the occasion as a tremendous success. Guests were treated to an exquisite selection of food and drinks, enjoyed captivating music, and engaged in an enlightening conversation with the artist, making for a memorable and enriching experience.

RDC Acquires Masterpiece at Investec Art Fair

RDC Property Group is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a captivating artwork at the Investec Art Fair, held February 16th weekend at the International Convention Centre Cape Town. This stunning woven masterpiece, created by the celebrated Mohamed Amine Hamouda, perfectly embodies our core values of integrity, sustainability, and empathy.

More than just a beautiful addition to our growing art collection, Hamouda’s creation transcends aesthetics to weave a powerful narrative. He transforms everyday discards – palm fronds, artisanal scraps, and even “undesirable” plants – from the unique Gabès oasis into stunning pieces that advocate for resourcefulness and environmental protection.

Hamouda’s masterful hands tell a story that deeply resonates with us at RDC. It’s a story about cherishing our resources, respecting our communities, and leaving a positive mark on the world we inhabit. This impactful acquisition goes beyond mere art appreciation; it reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability, evident in our green-rated buildings, innovative water and waste management systems, and the use of local, sustainable elements in our designs.

By proudly displaying Hamouda’s masterpiece, we aim to spark conversations about responsible living and environmental awareness among our millions of visitors. We believe that together, we can create a future where art, values, and sustainability are beautifully intertwined.

RDC Proudly Supports Sefhare Hospital, Sefhare Village, Botswana

On Tuesday 19th December 2023, delegates from RDC Property Group attended the annual Christmas Party held at Sefhare Hospital. Hosted at the maternity ward hallway, the occasion was indeed joyous as in-patients and staff members converged at the venue to celebrate the year end in unison.

Honouring the event with a keynote address was RDC Finance Manager Sylvester Seetso. In his speech, Mr Seetso presented a brief overview of the company’s commitment to uplifting the hospital, asserting that every year during Christmas festivities, RDC takes an initiative to donate funds towards the hospital’s Christmas party for the in-patients. He alluded that since 2014, the Group has been marking itself present in Sefhare Hospital to show commitment towards this initiative. 

Moreover, the speaker posited that RDC remains charged with the responsibility of uplifting communities, therefore the event is deemed as one of high sentimental value for it preaches the company’s mandate. “I must assert that it brings me inner peace, joy and comfort because today we will be donating gifts to those in-patients that did not have the luck of having family and friends around them”, he said. 

The Finance Manager thanked the Hospital management for ensuring the success of the event but most significantly, for creating a place of comfort for hospitalized patients in Sefhare Village. He concluded by asserting that he wishes that in 2024, RDC and the hospital would collaborate and deliberate on ways to resuscitate the event for the benefit of patients.

RDC Property Group Raises funds and Awareness for Men’s Mental and Physical Health this MOvember!

This Movember, RDC Property Group’s offices in Cape Town and Gaborone proudly joined the global movement of Mo Bros and Mo Sisters in raising critical funds and awareness for men’s mental health, cancer, and suicide prevention. The Movember Foundation tackles some of the most pressing health challenges faced by men, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. RDC Property Group stands firmly behind this vital cause and demonstrated their commitment by generously matching all staff donations made throughout November.  Beyond financial support, the RDC team went the extra mile by growing out their moustaches throughout November, a symbolic gesture that sparked conversations and increased awareness around men’s health issues. This combined effort of generous donations and dedicated awareness raising exemplifies RDC Property Group’s unwavering commitment to positively impacting communities and supporting causes that truly matter.

Ramadan Social Initiative

The Cape Town RDC team donated money and ingredients, prepared food, and handed out meals to close to 500 hungry residents in South Africa. The team went and dished up on site in Athlone and surrounding areas. What sets RDC apart is their long-term commitment to addressing the root cause of hunger in South Africa by continuing this initiative bimonthly. RDC is making a meaningful impact in the communities where they operate, and setting an example for other companies to follow. 

Ngwapa Prize Giving Sponsorship

RDC has supported the Ngwapa Primary School for many years, which has included funding for additional construction and upgrades. This year, in addition to its usual annual monetary incentive to the best performing Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) students, the RDC staff in Botswana assisted in renovating the playground for the learners to enjoy “We are proud to have been part of this special event and celebrate the outstanding PSLE results of these talented young students,” added RDC Chairman, Guido Giachetti. “Our goal is to create a better future for all, and we are committed to investing in the communities we serve.”

Chobe Marina Lodge Traditional Matsosangwao Dancers Sponsorship

RDC Property Group has been actively engaging the Matsosangwao Traditional dance group since 2005. This local group, comprised of unemployed youth, showcases the vibrant cultural dances of Botswana. Recognizing their talent and dedication, RDC Property Group has been supporting the group by providing a monthly performance fee of BWP 5500. This contribution is considered as part of RDC Property Group’s CSI (Corporate Social Investment) and is reflected on a monthly basis. The Matsosangwao group is regularly involved in the CHobe Marina Lodge Barbacue dinner nights, adding a unique cultural touch to these events.


RDC Property Group awards prizes to the top three students of Boitumelo Primary School in Sebele for their outstanding performance in the 2021 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). This initiative aims to acknowledge and motivate students who have worked hard and made sacrifices during the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Congratulations to the winners!


Since 2014, the Masa Centre, in partnership with its tenants, members of the public and some caring organisations, has successfully led “The Masa Centre Annual Food and Clothing for Charity Campaign”. Charities that have benefited from this initiative include: Anne Stine, Centre for Children with Disabilities, Mother Pontsho Foundation, and The Holy Cross Hospice.  ​We also take pride in having positively contributed to the improvement of the quality of life in a developing country such as Botswana; the establishment of Masa Centre has brought forth a welcomed change of lifestyle in the city of Gaborone.


RDC Property Group has been actively involved in the Investec Cape Town Art Fair for the past few years. The Company sponsors a monetary prize to the best booth – winner of the Art for Space and Space for Art Award. As a company involved in the design and creation of spaces for productivity and enjoyment, we understand the significance of physical space for art and are committed to creating and redesigning spaces of all sizes to showcase art. RDC believes in celebrating the beauty of art and the spaces that display it and therefore congratulates the winner of the best designed and conceptualized booth at the fair.


RDC Property Group has introduced community outreach plans, having recently hosted a feeding scheme for local communities in need. The Cape Town office staff spent their time making, packaging and distributing food. This event was supported by all staff and allowed for team building, while positively contributing to the community. We were very pleased with the outcome of this outreach scheme and look forward to implementing it regularly as an event supported by both our Gaborone and Cape Town offices.


One of the Group’s longstanding initiatives includes support of the Ngwapa Primary School in Botswana, which has received funding for additional construction and upgrades from the Group for many years. Recently, RDC staff members came together to revamp the school’s playground, exemplifying our dedication to social programs and continued efforts to enhance the quality of life in the regions in which we operate.


At the Radisson RED Rosebank hotel, RDC Property Group features a rotating exhibit of emerging local artists. Every 8-12 months, new and relatable up-and-coming artists are displayed, with the aim of impacting the Rosebank and South African communities through their work. The Group strives to bring sensitivity and appreciation of the arts to the host countries of their properties by assisting communities of artists and ensuring that their developments benefit the artistic and cultural ecosystem.


Every year since 2014, during the Christmas festivities, we aim to improve the lives of the Sefhare Primary Hospital patients. The Group donates funds and many other gifts towards the hospital’s Christmas party for the in-patients of the hospital, to show love and spread hope to the hospitalized during the festive season.


The Kind Heart Bench Mental Health Activation took place on December 15, 2022, at the Cape Quarter Square in Green Point, South Africa. The social innovation project focuses on mental health issues, and a yellow Kindness Bench was installed as a visual aid. Kind Heart partnered with various organizations, and the event included entertainment and yellow balloons with supportive messages.

​We have also contributed to the improvement of the quality of life in developing countries, for instance the establishment of Masa Centre brought forth a welcomed change of lifestyle in the city of Gaborone.


Collaborating with (D.A.W) Dead Animals Walking, our Cape Quarter team donated essential supplies, including food, blankets, toys, and essential building materials for dog kennels. This collaboration exemplifies our belief in extending compassion beyond retail spaces, making a tangible difference in the lives of furry companions and their caregivers.


Chobe Marina Lodge’s commitment to education was highlighted through the donation of essential toiletries to Chobe Community Junior School. This gesture underscores our dedication to nurturing the well-being and development of young minds.


Through the “KE DINALEDI” event, we collaborated with Botswana’s artists, Ronald Kegomoditswe and Prince Tom. Our support included hosting organising and coverage in newspapers, social media, radio, and a mention on BTV national evening news. This initiative underscored our commitment to nurturing local artistic talent and cultural appreciation.


Ms Bogolo Kenewendo, alongside RDC Property Group, donated six desktop computers, two printers, 100 plastic chairs, a water dispenser and essential office furniture to Motopi Village Kgotla and Motopi Primary School. This donation aimed to enhance educational and community facilities, emphasizing our commitment to education and community upliftment.


Chobe Marina Lodge organized a football tournament, raising funds for the community. The event promoted wellness and camaraderie among staff while contributing to the betterment of the community.


RDC Property Group was proud to sponsor and participate in the Real Estate Conference and Expo (RECE) 2023 in Botswana. Our CEO, Gary Fisher, presented on our commitment to sustainable development and investing in high-quality assets that meet the needs of the communities in which we operate.

The highlight of our sponsorship was the presentation by Professor François Viruly on the topic of “What’s next – unpacking trends in the Property Market.” Professor Viruly highlighted four key trends that are shaping the future of the property market:

These events make a big difference in lives, as they provide students with exposure to different career paths and opportunities. The girls enjoyed the visit and had the opportunity to enjoy the lodge’s beautiful pool and refreshments
