On August 31, 2024, The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa hosted the “Cruise for a Cause” initiative, a pivotal event aimed at supporting the Drought Relief Program under the Livingstone Tourism Association (LTA). This year’s severe drought has placed immense strain on our wildlife and park, which not only supports numerous tourist activities but also enhances our town with its rich natural heritage.
Anticipating the drought’s impact, we established the Drought Relief Committee in April to respond proactively. Our goal has been to raise funds to provide supplementary feed for wildlife. The funds raised from the “Cruise for a Cause” event will be donated to the LTA, specifically to purchase a 5.5KVA solar pump and panels. This equipment will be used to flood the Imosho Plain, aiming to increase grass coverage and support the ecosystem during this challenging time.
