Supporting the Private Sector Disaster Relief Fund (PSDRF)
Gaborone, Botswana — In a display of solidarity and corporate citizenship, RDC Properties Limited participated in the Private Sector Disaster Relief Fund status update and Cheque Handover Ceremony, held at Cresta Lodge on 19 June 2025. The event, hosted by Business Botswana, with The Minister in The State Presidency Mr Moeti Mphwase as guest of honour. The event brought together members of the private sector who rallied to support victims of the devastating floods that hit Gaborone earlier this year.
Representing RDC Properties Limited at the ceremony was Mr. Letsweletse Ramokate, Country Manager, who joined an assembly of corporate leaders and dignitaries to reaffirm the company’s commitment to national relief efforts. RDC Properties Limited contributed P50,000 to the fund, positioning itself among the key players responding to the government’s call for humanitarian assistance.
The ceremony served as both a platform for cheque handovers and a progress update on the PSDRF initiative, which mobilised contributions from across Botswana’s business community. Cheques, along with acknowledgments of in-kind donations were formally presented to Business Botswana.
Notable figures in attendance included Minister for State President Hon. Minister Moeti C. Mohwasa, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of State President Ms. Goitsemang Morekise, Chairman of PSDRF Mr B Phiri, Mr. Justice Moilwa, a member of the Board and CEO of Business Botswana Mr. Norman Moleele. Collectively, they ushered in company representatives as they stepped forward to present their contributions.
On behalf of RDC Properties Limited, Mr. Ramokate expressed appreciation for the collective efforts of the private sector and emphasised the importance of corporate responsibility during times of national crisis. “RDC Properties Limited stands in solidarity with those affected. We believe in partnerships that go beyond profit and speak to the heart of nation-building,” he noted.
The event concluded with a renewed call for ongoing collaboration between the public and private sectors in addressing future national emergencies.
